Responsible data
Data Privacy
Our approach to provenance, geographic information, responsible analysis, and the protection of people represented by data.
Geography and data-layer source
The data used in Tenet's geography and data layers was collected from the Zambia National Spatial Data Infrastructure (ZNSDI) catalogue.
Where an individual layer includes additional or derived source material, its accompanying attribution and licence information applies. Administrative boundaries are provided for visualisation and analysis and do not replace an authoritative legal boundary record.
What the layers represent
Geographic layers may be cleaned, matched, simplified, or transformed so they can be displayed efficiently and connected to other records. These processing steps can introduce differences from the source. We aim to preserve source meaning and document material transformations.
Privacy by design
- Collect only the information reasonably needed for a stated purpose.
- Prefer aggregated or de-identified outputs when individual-level detail is unnecessary.
- Limit access to sensitive information and apply appropriate security controls.
- Avoid publishing data that could reasonably expose or harm an individual or community.
- Review data quality, provenance, and permissions before reuse.
Responsible interpretation
Maps and statistics are representations, not complete accounts of people or places. Users should consider the collection date, method, coverage, uncertainty, and licence before drawing conclusions or making decisions from a layer.
Questions and corrections
If you believe a layer contains an attribution, privacy, or accuracy issue, please use our Help page to report it. Include the layer name, location, and a short explanation so the issue can be reviewed.
